STAGED READING SERIES

CONTACT:

Dan Margules, Director dmargules@scriptwritersnetwork.org

DESCRIPTION:
The Staged Reading Series provides the writer an opportunity to have a submitted feature or television script performed by actors through a table read and/or rehearsed on a theatre stage.  Having a script interpreted by other artists and hearing it with other voices is an invaluable tool to a project's creative evaluation.

BENEFITS:
All eligible entries will be accepted in the series.  This is not a competition, and there is no elimination process.  The series' objective is to help writers improve their craft through feedback from the performance of their work and interpretation of its dialogue and storyline in an artisitic environment.

ELIGIBILITY:
The Staged Reading Series is open to both Scriptwriters Network (SWN) members and non-members who are 18-years of age or older. Scripts that have received at least one "Recommend" or "Consider" from HOP or CSMTOP, or placed as a semi-finalist or higher in the High Concept Screenplay Competition are automatically eligible. Scripts are also eligible if they have gone through one of our Writers Groups and been recommended by the moderator. Eligibility for all other scripts will be determined at the sole discretion of the Staged Reading Series coordinator. Only submissions in English will be eligible for the series.

ENTRY FEES:
$90 Membership

The Staged Reading Series Submission Release Form must be included with every script submitted.

There are NO REFUNDS.

OCCURRENCE:
The Staged Reading Series is available year round.  There are no deadline dates.  Please email entries to Dan Margules at dmargules@scriptwritersnetwork.org.

PROCESS:
Once an entry has been submitted, all logistics, including location, date and casting, will be coordinated between the Staged Reading Series Director, Dan Margules, and the writer.  All writers, at their sole discretion, may invite up to 20 industry professionals to the performance of their work.
