Sergeant Derek Pacifico has been a cop in Southern
California working for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department
for over 21 years. He has amassed vast experience in the two decades
he has been rising through the ranks.
Like all new deputies, he started in the corrections bureau for
about 3 years and later moved to patrol where he spent almost 6
years responding to emergency calls, arresting suspects and investigating
crimes.
In 1998 he was promoted to detective and soon made his way to the
Homicide Detail where he worked murders, suspicious deaths and officer-involved-shooting
cases for 6 fantastic years.
Gaining tremendous expertise and knowledge in the bureau, he became
the department's lead Interview & Interrogation instructor.
Derek also developed the only two-week (80-hour) Homicide Investigator's
School of its kind. Soon after concluding the first of several sessions
of both the interview and homicide schools, Derek started fielding
invitations to provide his lectures to outside organizations.
When his reputation as a dynamic and energetic instructor created
out of state requests, Global
Training Institute was born. He continues to provide lectures
and training seminars from coast to coast for local, state and federal
law enforcement agencies, Las Vegas Hotel and Casino resorts and
private organizations. In 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant
and rotated out of homicide back to patrol operations where he remains
today.
