Characters Who Write Themselves

Date: 18 September 2010
Summary: Patrick A. Horton, PhD / The Story Coach
Details:

This highly interactive and very hands-on presentation will walk attendees concretely through some very simple, intuitive, and stunningly effective steps that will completely and forever transform their approach to story, characters, life, and career.  Never again will they need to approach their material and characters from the top down where even the very best can get and stay stuck at the seemingly impenetrable surface, but will discover how to easily divine and give birth to stories from the bottom up and characters from the inside out.

Better still, they will learn how to do this for entire constellations of characters, each with their own respective voice, all involved in a single coherent and driving story.  Best of all, they will come to appreciate what it is writers must create and give to actors to act and what it is as actors need to receive and draw out from writers.

Patrick A. Horton, PhD, / thestorycoach.com, is a long time and particularly innovative presenter to the Scriptwriters Network and other media industry conferences, panels, and events.  He is one of the most uniquely and immediately empowering trainers, facilitators, and coaches for not only the effective creation of story, but for enhancing the equally effective collaboration of skills and crafts that must converge to successfully take any project from concept to successful realization and completion.

Whether working with individuals, organizations, or full blown studios, the goal is never just to succeed and do well, but to discover what is possible.  As the tag line to the master seminar goes, it won’t just change the way you work, it will change the way you live.

At present, Patrick Horton is working on multiple publishing and media projects and has once again resumed work on the book version of his flagship seminar, “The Story Coach – Practical Magic; The Story of Transformation & The Transformation of Story.”

This presentation is co-sponsored by Dr Horton’s long-time collaborative partners at Write Brothers, Inc, / Movie Magic Screenwriter / screenplay.com

Check-in begins at 12:00pm.  Seminar starts at 1:00pm.
