Screenwriting Contests
2010 Big Bear Lake International Film Festival Screenwriting Competition
The 2010 Big Bear Lake International Film Festival Screenwriting Competition is now accepting entries.
All entries receive brief written feedback from at least 3 readers--at no extra cost. Finalists are read by Hollywood professional agents, managers, producers. Past finalists have gotten sales, agents, managers, writing assignments and an Academy Award nomination from contacts made here. At least one announced that because of results here he has moved to L.A. as a full-time screenwriter. A few comments from entrants:
"As far as Big Bear, I’ll be back. Good contest. Good judges."
"Screenplay requests are starting to roll in. The notes from your readers will help me make some changes before I fill the requests, so again, a zillion thanks!"
"Though my entry did not advance in the competition, I am finding the evaluations very helpful in planning a rewrite of my script. You are running the competition in a very professional and writer-friendly way."
"Thank you so much for the GREAT feedback notes. Even though my script did not advance to the finals I still feel like a winner!"
Regular deadline: March 15--$40; Final deadline: April 1--$45. For information and forms: www.bigbearlakefilmfestival.com.
