DESCRIPTION:
Hollywood Outreach Program (HOP) provides access to enlisted production companies, agents, and managers for feature film and movie of the week screenplays (entries) that are recommended by the program. Once an entry succeeds, the script is marketed for the lifetime of the Hollywood Outreach Program! Scripts succeed on their own merit, not in comparison to other entries.
BENEFITS:
All entries receive two written evaluations (coverage) in any one session. The program's objective is to help writers improve their craft with a goal of obtaining representation, selling or optioning their work, and/or landing a writing assignment.
ELIGIBILITY:
HOP is open to both Scriptwriters Network (SWN) members and non-members who are 18-years of age or older. Screenplays (English only) are to be unproduced, unoptioned, and wholly original works of the entrant or writing team. Please conform to industry Feature Screenplay Format.
ENTRY FEES:
| SWN Members - $65: (copy of membership card) |
|
| Non-Members - $105: |
|
| Non-Members Joining the Network - $130: ($25 savings) |

The HOP Submission/Release Form must be included with every script submitted to the Hollywood Outreach Program.
There are NO REFUNDS.
OCCURRENCE:
HOP is available four times (sessions) per year, with entry deadlines on the third Saturday of January, April, July and October. Only one submission is allowed by an entrant or writing team per session. Entries may be emailed in PDF form to lsquire@scriptwritersnetwork.org, mailed to The Scriptwriters Network - HOP at Hollywood Production Center, 121 West Lexington Avenue #368, Glendale, CA 91203, or hand-delivered at the Seminar Series occurring on the Saturday of the deadline date. Late entries will be held for the next session.
PROCESS:
Entries are evaluated in the areas of Story, Structure, Character, Dialogue, and Format. After completion of the written coverage, each entry will receive either a "Recommend," "Consider," or "Pass" evaluation of the script for advancement in the program. Since HOP is a volunteer program, please allow up to two months for the process to be completed.
Entries that receive a "Pass" evaluation are judged as being completed for that session, with the written coverage forwarded to the entrant or writing team by email. The script may be resubmitted in a subsequent session for a reduced fee. Entries which receive any combination of "Recommend" or "Consider" evaluations advance to be read by members of the HOP Committee. A script becomes an HOP Winner when it receives a combination of three "Recommend" or "Consider" evaluations. The HOP Winner will then be marketed to the participating industry representatives.
Producers, production companies, agents, and managers who would like to participate in the Hollywood Outreach Program may download either the Friends of the Network Questionnaire (PDF) or the Friends of the Network Questionnaire (Microsoft Word format).
