Pitching Outreach Program

CONTACT:

David Mulligan, Director / dmulligan@scriptwritersnetwork.org

DESCRIPTION:

Pitching Outreach Program (POP) provides access to enlisted production companies, agents, and managers for pitches (entries) of projects of all forms and states of completion.  Many of these representatives are exclusive to POP only and do not particpate in HOP or TOP.

BENEFITS:

All entries will be forwarded on in the program.  This is not a competition, and there is no elimination process.  The program's objective is to enable the writer to have an idea, story, treatment, or script optioned and/or sold.

ELIGIBILITY:

POP is open to both Scriptwriters Network (SWN) members and non-members who are 18-years of age or older.  Pitches (English only) are to be unproduced, unoptioned, and wholly original proposals of the entrant or pitching team.  All rights to any project must be secured.

ENTRY FEES:

SWN Members - $30

Non-Members - $45

The POP Submission Release Form must be included with every entry submitted to the Pitching Outreach Program.

OCCURRENCE:

The next POP session is scheduled for September, 2009.  Multiple submissions are allowed by an entrant or pitching team per session.  Entries may be emailed to David Mulligan at dmulligan@scriptwritersnetwork.org.  Late entries will be held for the next session.

PROCESS:

The pitch may be either written, verbal, or both.  If both a written and verbal form of the same pitch is submitted, each is charged separtely.  A written entry shall consist of a logline, a synopsis of not more than three short paragraphs, and the entrant's contact information.  A verbal entry shall consist of a YouTube submission that does not exceed three minutes and includes the entrant's contact information.  All POP entries will be compiled and emailed to the industry representatives on the last Monday of the deadline months.  The December email will contain the entries for that round as well as a free repeat of all of the submissions for the year.

All of the POP industry representatives are listed in the Hollywood Creative Directory and have requested to receive the SWN POP submissions.  Entrants will be contacted directly by them if there is interest in the projects pitched.
